Rental Properties with sustainable practices

Our sustainable rental practices go beyond claims of recycling and asking guests to reuse towels. We incorporate edible landscaping with non edible utility plants like shampoo ginger and plants that can be used as a natural deodorant. Of course we still recycle what we can not upcycle. We use natural cleaning products many that we grow ourselves like Sani pine and lemon. We believe that you can not be healthy in a sick environment. The pest control measures are holistic. We don’t dump chemicals in or around the homes we manage. All of our rentals come with membership to the Permaculture Country Club, Costa Rica’s Championship 18 hole disc golf course that includes pickle ball, volley ball, badminton, bocci ball, BBQ, darts, pool, a Giant 24 feet by 24 feet Chess set, nature trails, and Axe Throwing.

Greenfield cabin

Teak wood is an excellent but expensive wood that is used in many products that need durability and weather resistance like boat building. We designed a new style of construction to utilize the odd outer cuts of the wood that were thrown away (until we publicized how to make a beautiful home out of the part of the tree that was discarded). The vast majority of the building materials were extras from other homes built at St. Michael’s. Planning and creativity have produced a cabin with less than 5% of the cost of materials of a conventional build. Our end product has more durability and charm than modern builds. This cabin overlooks a stream and pond stocked with fish and shrimp set inside one of the largest and most diverse food forests in the world. It has a full kitchen, full bathroom, private back deck with water views, a comfortable bed and a comfortable price.
